Recent advances in service overlay networks

The purpose of this issue is to disseminate state-of-the-art technologies and novel
approaches to address service delivery over the Internet with overly networks. We are
particularly interested in soliciting papers that provide fundamental understanding
on the design tradeoff and performance issues of service overlay networks. Possible
topics include, but are not limited to:
* Design and performance of novel architectures, protocols, and mechanisms for service
overlay networks
* Approaches and performance of QoS provisioning in service overlay networks
* Control and management of service overlay networks
* Interactions of service overlay networks and underlying data networks, e.g.
multi-lateral service level agreements
* Modeling and performance analysis of caching overlay infrastructure
* Performance of multimedia delivery with service overlay networks
* New routing algorithms in content delivery and peer-to-peer infrastructure
* Searching and indexing for content delivery and peer-to-peer networks
* Experience in research testbed and prototypes or novel technologies in commercial products

Prospective authors should submit, via email, their abstract as a text file and
manuscript as a PDF file to Professor Bo Li, according to the following timetable.
Abstract Submission: September 1, 2002
Manuscript Submission: November 15, 2002
Acceptance Notification: March 15, 2003
Final Manuscript Due: May 1, 2003
Publication Date: 4th Quarter 2003
