    Continuing the tradition of this series of symposia, ISCC’2002 will provide an
    international technical forum for experts from industry and academia to
    exchange ideas and present results of ongoing research in the areas listed
    below. This year, special focus will be on the challenging issues related to
    the creation, management, dissemination, and communication of information. You
    are invited to submit a full paper, or a proposal for a panel, invited
    session,
    or tutorial, related to the following topics:

    - Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery and Applications
    - Distributed Systems Architecture and Management
    - Electronic Commerce

    - Management of Information Technology
    - Mobile Ad-hoc Networks
    - Multimedia Information Management and Exchange
    - Network Design, Operation and Management
    - Network Reliability and Quality of Service
    - Programmable and Active Networks
    - Security, Privacy and Information Access
    - Signal Processing in Communications and Networking
    - Software Testing and Reliability
    - Web-based Systems and Network management
    - Wireless, Cellular and Mobile Communications

    Papers should describe original work, and be 20 double-spaced pages (5,000
    words) or less in length. A concise and representative abstract should be
    included. The paper should clearly indicate the complete postal and electronic
    mailing addresses, as well as the phone and fax numbers of the corresponding
    author. Paper submissions must be made electronically via the web, in either
    postscript or PDF format, at http://iscc02.deis.unibo.it. Hardcopy or e-mailed
    submissions will not be accepted.
